Kick notifications in Discord, the moment you go live

Koya is a Kick notification bot for Discord. It posts in the channel you choose as soon as Kick reports the stream is live, with your message, your embed and the roles to ping. The free plan covers 1 Kick channel, enough to announce your own stream. Premium raises it to 10 channels and adds end-of-stream actions, auto refresh and fast mode, and Pro is unlimited. Everything is set up from the dashboard, with no Kick login.

  • Go-live alerts posted as soon as Kick reports the stream
  • Your own message, embed and role pings, @everyone included
  • Works in text, announcement and forum channels
  • One alert per stream
  • Premium: end-of-stream actions and an alert refreshed every 5 minutes

The default Kick alert

The preview above is the default alert: a role ping, "is now live on Kick!", the stream link, then a green embed with the streamer name, the stream title, the category, the viewer count and the stream thumbnail. Every part of it can be changed: rewrite the message, rebuild the embed or load a saved template. Variables fill in the live details for you:

  • {channel.name}: the Kick channel name
  • {stream.title} and {stream.game.name}: the stream title and its category
  • {stream.viewers}: the viewer count when the alert is posted
  • {stream.url}: the link to the stream
  • {ping.roles}: the roles you chose to ping

Set up Kick notifications in three steps

No Kick account or API key is needed.

  1. Add Koya to your Discord server.
  2. In the dashboard, open Kick, search the channel by name and pick the Discord channel for the alerts.
  3. Choose the roles to ping, adjust the message and save.

Koya posts through a webhook, so it needs the Manage Webhooks permission in that channel. In a forum channel, each stream opens its own post, titled after the stream. Alerts use the name and avatar of your custom bot profile, and Premium can set them per alert.

When the stream ends (Premium)

With Premium, you choose what happens to the alert once Kick reports the stream is over. Here is what the alerts channel shows with each end of stream action:

The alerts channel after the stream
ActionWhat members see
NothingThe live alert, as it was posted
NewThe live alert, followed by a new end message
EditA single message: the live alert, turned into the end message
DeleteNo alert left: the channel only shows streams that are live

The default end message is an embed with the streamer name, the stream title and the Kick channel banner, and you can rewrite it like the live alert. Premium can also refresh the live alert every 5 minutes with the current title, category and viewers, and publish it automatically in announcement channels so that following servers get it too.

For streamers, teams and fan servers

Announcing your own stream? The free plan is enough: 1 Kick channel with your message and your ping. A team or a collective can follow 10 channels on Premium, or unlimited on Pro, each with its own Discord channel, roles and message. On a fan server, ping a role that members pick for themselves, so only the people who want live alerts get them: let members pick the live ping role.

FAQ

Is the Kick notification bot free?

Yes. The free plan covers 1 Kick channel with a custom message, embed and role pings. Premium raises it to 10 channels and adds end-of-stream actions, auto refresh and checks every 2 minutes. Pro is unlimited.

How fast is the alert posted?

As soon as Kick reports the stream is live. A backup check also runs every hour, or every 2 minutes with Premium fast mode, in case an event is missed.

Does Koya announce every stream?

Yes. Each stream of the channel gets one alert when it goes live, never two. Kick alerts have no conditions: the game, viewer, schedule and uptime conditions are only available for Twitch alerts.

Can I ping a role or @everyone?

Yes. Pick one or more roles to mention in the alert, or @everyone.

Do I need to connect my Kick account?

No. Search any Kick channel by name from the dashboard. You can announce your own stream or someone else's.

Why didn't my Kick alert post?

Check two things: Koya has the Manage Webhooks permission in that channel, and the alert is enabled in the dashboard. If Koya cannot create its webhook in the channel, it turns the alert off: turn it back on once the permission is fixed.

Can I post Kick alerts in a forum channel?

Yes. Each stream opens a new post in the forum, titled after the stream.
